Things to do with kids in Dubai: Ripe Market

Now that the good weather has arrived, all families are excited about doing outdoor activities with your little ones.

During the winter, Dubai offers many things to do. Today, we'd like to talk to you about a very special event: the Ripe Market.

All About the Ripe Market

Established in 2011, the Ripe Market is a community-driven initiative, supporting local businesses eager to flourish in the UAE.

This season, 2023-2024, expect it to be even more vibrant and bustling than before.

Dubai's Ripe Market is your ideal destination if you're on the hunt for sustainable and organic treasures.

Discoveries Await at Ripe

This unique community-led business was founded in 2011 with the idea of bringing together local brands that wanted to sell and grow in the UAE.

The weekly outdoor market is a unique experience that residents of the UAE love, and this season 2023-2024 it promises to be bigger and better than ever, with numerous activities for families to enjoy.

The Ripe Market in Dubai has become 'the' shopping destination if you’re looking for a wide selection of sustainable and organic products.

You can shop sustainable fashion for kids & organic clothing for women, jewelry, homeware, and art from talented local designers and retailers, while your kids can play around and enjoy a big variety of kids' activities.

If you are looking for natural foods, Ripe gathers a large number of organic and local brands where you can buy fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables. The aim is to spread the benefits of going organic and supporting local farms. You can enjoy the freshest and tastiest products.

At The Ripe Market, you find a wide variety of tasty food. Enjoy the different food trucks, drink fresh coconut from ‘the coconut man’ or a fresh Taiwanese fruit tea from Yi Fang.

Both young and old love the delicious Belgian waffles with a cappuccino at the entrance from La Maison, ice creams from House of Pops or any gelato vendor, and Dutch stroopwafels from Stroopking. Many other vendors from different countries offer their delicacies.

Got a Knack for Padel?

You can play this trendy sport in Dubai at the Ripe Market. You can play padel at Padel Park and Just Padel, both of which have their outdoor courts at The Ripe Market. Now that the weather invites outdoor play, we recommend booking in advance as evenings can get busy.

What's Fresh in 2023?

Academy Park is introducing several new attractions: vast green spaces, an adrenaline-pumping zipline, a skate park, and even an E-Carts track. Plus, enjoy the unique café experience from Sanderson’s Café, and if you're looking for a quick ride, rent a bike or a fun rider at the entrance.

Planning Your Visit

The Ripe Market runs from mid-October to mid-May, every weekend. On Saturdays, they're open from 9 am to 9 pm, and Sundays from 9 am to 7 pm. You'll find the market in the Academy Park of Dubai Police in Umm Suqeim.

After passing the police entrance, take a left, and soon after, a vast parking area awaits.

More fun for the Kids

The market offers an array of children's activities. They can interact with animals at Julie Jackson's petting zoo, engage in arts and crafts, and even enjoy some slime-making fun.
